Vandalia Time!

As the festival heads for 50 years of celebrating West Virginia’s Heritage in 2027, we take a look back at last year’s 48th Annual Vandalia Gathering! In 2025 folks took to the Capitol grounds once more to celebrate West Virginia’s rich heritage. With a large variety of West Virginia Artisans, a nice variety of food vendors, and of course–music! There are competitions in fiddle, old-time and bluegrass banjo, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and flat-pick guitar; evening concerts featuring the best of West Virginia’s traditional musicians; and of course we can’t forget the Liar’s Contest! The Vandalia Gathering also marks the opening of the West Virginia Juried Quilt and Wall Hanging Exhibition, on display through Labor Day weekend.
